NADRA-SECP Sign MoU to Promote Mutual Cooperation

National Data Base and Registration Authority (NADRA) and the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to formalize mechanism for information sharing and cooperation between the two institutions.

The objective of the MoU is to establish a framework for bilateral cooperation between the NADRA and SECP in various areas of mutual interest, encompassing a wide spectrum of initiatives, including: provision of Identity Verification Services to SECP Regulated Entities; exchange of information; policy and regulatory input on areas of common interest, business processes efficiency, cybersecurity, data management and capacity building etc.

Chairman NADRA, Lt. Gen Munir Afsar, speaking at the occasion, highlighted NADRA’s successful collaborations across various sectors, noting that these collaborations are essential in building a secure and efficient digital infrastructure. He emphasized that by leveraging our collective strengths; we can not only optimize our service delivery but also ensure that citizens’ data remains protected from unauthorized access and exploitation.

Chairman SECP Mr. Akif Saeed, applauded NADRA’s proactive efforts in creating a safe and secure digital ecosystem in the country, and thanked NADRA for its support to SECP and its regulated entities. He also highlighted the significance of collective efforts by all regulatory bodies and the importance of creating awareness; as critical elements in strengthening overall cyber security measures and individuals’ data security.

While thanking Chairman NADRA and his team, Commissioner SECP, Mr. Mujtaba Ahmed Lodhi, appreciated NADRA for joining forces with SECP in spreading awareness regarding data security and for extending its services to SECP regulated entities.
