The output of Large-Scale Manufacturing Industries (LSMI) witnessed an increase of 3.03 per cent during the month of July 2026 compared to the same month of last year, the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) reported.
On a month-on-month basis, the LSMI’s production in July 2026 increased by 9.51 per cent when compared with that of June 2026.
The main contributors towards overall growth of 3.03% are Food (-0.84), Beverages (-0.45), Tobacco (0.55), Textile (-0.53), Garments (3.87), Petroleum Products (0.11), Chemicals (-0.50), Pharmaceuticals (-1.24), Cement (0.36), Iron& Steel Products (-0.47), Electrical Equipment (0.21), Machinery and Equipment (-0.03), Automobiles (1.91), Other transport Equipment (0.27), and Furniture (0.18).
The production in July 2026-27 has posted growth in Tobacco, wearing apparel, Leather Products, Wood Products, Coke & Petroleum Products, Rubber Products, Non-Metallic Mineral Products, Fabricated Metal, Computer, electronics and Optical Products, Electrical Equipment, Automobiles, Other Transport Equipment and Furniture.
It decreased in Food, Beverages, Textile, Paper & Board, Chemical Products, Pharmaceuticals, Iron & Steel Products and Machinery and Equipment.
The provisional quantum indices of Large-Scale Manufacturing Industries (LSMI) for July 2026, with the base year 2015-16, have been developed based on the latest data supplied by the source agencies.
