The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), informed that it has received about US$1.3 billion under the International Monetary Fund’s EFF program and climate related Resilience and Sustainability Facility.
In a statement, the central bank reported that the SBP has received SDR 914 million (equivalent to about US$1.3 billion) from the IMF under the EFF and RSF. This brings total disbursements under the two arrangements to SDR 3,348 million, approximately US$4.8 billion.
The IMF Executive Board, in its meeting on 08 May 2026, has completed third review under the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) and approved disbursement of SDR 760 million, around US$1.1 billion, for Pakistan, it stated. The 37-month EFF arrangement, approved on September 25, 2024, is aimed at building resilience, enabling sustainable growth and entrenching macroeconomic stability.
The IMF Executive Board has also approved disbursement of second tranche of SDR 154 million around US$220 million under the Resilience and Sustainability Facility (RSF). The 28-month RSF arrangement was approved on May 9, 2025 to support Pakistan’s efforts to reduce vulnerabilities to natural disasters and to build economic and climate resilience.
The amount has been received in value date 12 May 2026 and would be reflected in SBP’s foreign exchange reserves for the week ending on 15 May 2026, it concluded.
