Pakistan has welcomed its first commercial shipment of Build Your Dreams (BYD) electric vehicles at Karachi Port Trust (KPT).
The shipment, consisting of Completely Built-Up (CBU) units, was efficiently managed at the Karachi International Container Terminal (KICT), showcasing KPT’s advanced logistical capabilities.
This development signals Pakistan’s shift toward sustainable transportation, aligning with global efforts to reduce carbon emissions. As a world leader in electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles, BYD’s entry into the market is expected to accelerate EV adoption, encourage local manufacturers to explore electric mobility, and drive investments in critical infrastructure such as charging stations.
This milestone sets the stage for further advancements in sustainable mobility and strengthens Pakistan’s position in the global transition toward renewable energy.
