CIMPA School at LUMS – Fostering a global community for mathematical excellence
The Department of Mathematics at LUMS has been designated as the Emerging Regional Centre of Excellence (ERCE) for its significant contributions to the promotion of mathematics in the region. This recognition has been conferred by the Commission of Developing Countries of the European Mathematical Sciences, acknowledging LUMS as a leading institution in fostering mathematical education and research in the region.
Leveraging its international standing, the Department of Mathematics is hosting the prestigious CIMPA Research School on Algebra and Algebraic Geometry for Applications, scheduled from February 26 to March 8, 2024.
35th ‘Vision Eye Camp’ held to Bring Sight and Hope to almost 600 patients in Lahore and Karachi
Vision Eye Care, an international relief organization dedicated to the prevention of blindness with a footprint in 39 countries around the world, launched its 35th cataract surgery project, the ‘Vision Eye Camp,’ in Karachi and Lahore. Organized through sponsorships from the Parwaaz Financial Services Limited, CITI Group, Hanananum Foundation, Lotte Akhtar Beverages (Pvt) Ltd, Haimont Group, and Galleria Design, the Camp aimed to treat 600 patients and perform 150 cataract surgeries.

The Institute of Business Management, held its 26th Convocation at its campus on Saturday, December 09, 2023. 1,446 graduates from more than 40 disciplines including Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Ph.D. were conferred degrees at the ceremony this year that was attended by senior representatives from IoBM, graduating students, their parents, and faculty.
